The indicators help us to track the effectiveness
of measures taken to improve safety and health
performance in all business divisions. In addition, it
helps the Group to identify the most useful preventive
action. The table below indicates the LTIFR, based on
the number of days of lost time:

The table indicates that after taking into account all injuries that occurred during FYE2019, the Group had
recorded an LTIFR of 13.25 site for every 1 million man-hours worked. Nearly half of all incidents are reported by
the
Plantation Division
involving injuries resulting from the use of work tools such as machete and sickles. Others
include falling fronds, thorn pricks and injuries related to the handling of FFB.
Last year we had identified some inconsistencies in the computation and definition of lost time injuries in different
parts of the Group, resulting in more cases being recorded and reported when compared to the previous year.
The methodology has now been improved and we will continue to progressively refine our reporting criteria and
enhance our disclosures.
