On-going investments in upgrading
production
facilities,
productivity
improvements, continuous cost reduction
initiatives and the hard work of our teams
have also contributed to the Division’s
strong results. During the financial year,
the Division spent RM3.99 million on
CAPEX. A new cold room for tuna loins
was commissioned during this period at
IFC’s factory premises, which provided
not only additional storage capabilities
but also greater process efficiency
regarding handling and storage. The
installation of a new can body welder
for the can-making operation during the
year is also expected to positively impact
IFC’s bottom-line moving forward as the
business becomes more cost-effective.
These efforts are critical in the current
environment, where price increases
are difficult in the face of an already
challenged consumer.
Threats to the sustainability of fish supply
as a result of over-fishing and climate
